Barats and Bereta spent the past month filming in Los Angeles and came back to Spokane on Feb 11.
Barats & Bereta Productions (B&B) is currently editing "This is Culdesac," a half-hour series of sketches in which Culdesac is the name of Barats and Bereta's characters' hometown.
There are other characters played by other people, but Barats said that he and Bereta will take the two primary roles in each two- to three-minute sketch. This comes out to about eight sketches per episode, and a half hour's worth of sketches will be "loosely related to one another" in a theme if this becomes a regular production.
The due date is flexible, he said, and they aim for late-March or early-April to present a finished product to NBC.
The Gonzaga alums signed a contract with NBC in September to produce short videos, in the style that brought them millions of viral-video hits on YouTube. Their work includes shorts such as "Completely Uncalled For," "Mother's Day," "Gonzaga Love" and "Ninja Rap."
Barats graduated in 2006 with a theatre arts and history double-major, and Bereta graduated in 2005 as a broadcast studies major. They both live in Spokane.
